Mardu Angels is alright, but it's far faster with one or two colors. Those colors have the best Angels out there. Personally, I think if you went with Angels, you should go Mono-White, Boros, or GW. I know I mentioned Herald of War, but there are a lot of cards like that you can play. I added a few non-preconstructed Angels such as ] for their effects.Īngels and Humans also synergize very well. I basically combined the Blessed deck in Blessed Vs Cursed and the Angel deck from Angels Vs Demons and added a lot of cards from Commander precons for mana fixing and Voltron from the C17 Cats deck which have all proven to be very helpful for creating a shell. Having Lifelink on an Angel is also pretty good. ] is pretty underrated for what it does and its saved me a few games. Smaller Angels like ] are pretty good as well. Also, with other Angels like ] you can deal even more damage as a back-up plan. She's an 8/8, so getting her to deal 21 damage isn't too hard. It's pretty slow but it's super fun to play, especially if you manage to get Akroma out early and swing with something that gives her Double Strike or Deathtouch. They're at least a decent framework to develop from, I'd say. Comes with the territory of playing for almost 20 years - the longer you play, the more expensive cards you accumulate. Radiant is the only General that actually interacts with the deck, sorta, and while she's an absolute BEAST it's more that the deck helps HER than she helps the Deck.Īlso, the designs I have are fairly expensive. Jenara is extremely useful, but she's no more than another Angel in the deck, and Tariel rarely gets played (he's there until a better Mardu Angel is printed, if that ever happens). The only real downside with any of them are that Jenara and Tariel are just. They all function fairly radically differently than one another, but they're a good cross-section of how you can build an Angel Tribal deck. Radiant Angel Go-Wide: Token Generation, anthems, exalted, artifact- & land-based tricks Tariel Angel Reanimator: Reanimation, burn, tutoring, combat manipulation (damage redirection, magnification/reduction, etc.) Jenara Angel Tempo: +1/+1 counters, drawing, lifegain, recursion
